On my Mac, there is not even an Adobe plug-ins folder in my user library. It is in hard_drive/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS5/File Formats.

There is only one plug-in that is commonly stored in the Unix-style user hierarchy you described, and that is Adobe Camera Raw. As I wrote above, most Photoshop plug-ins live in one place, the Plug-ins folder in the Photoshop application folder.

It's true for a lot of Mac files, but not for Photoshop plug-ins. It's a good time to start poking around to learn your system. I'm going to keep a copy of the March 25th plug-in locally just in case if future updates break it.This is a google search away - but - there is a plugins folder in one of 3 places - the user library - the system library, or the PS folder in your apps folder. I'm not sure why that was, but it is actually working now with the most updated software.

I was then able to upgrade the ATEM Software back to 8.6.4, and watching the plug-in software like a hawk, it never was replaced. After doing that, the plug in worked! That version of the plug-in is dated to March 25th, 2021.

I then decided to downgrade a little further back on the ATEM Software Control, this time back to 8.6.1 as I saw someone else mention. I looked closer at a few more messages in this thread, making sure I was using the correctly dated versions of the Plug-In (August 16th, 2021) but that version was not helping. I had been going along since last fall just updating Photoshop with the hope it would work, but that just never worked. I had tried downgrading both my Photoshop (20-ish?) and my ATEM Software Control (8.6.3), but that didn't seem to work. I'm using a Mac Mini (2018), which is an Intel. I was running the most recent version of Photoshop (23.1.1) and ATEM Software Control (8.6.4), along with a very recent MacOS build (Monterey 12.1).

Through a little more trial and error I got it working and wanted to list what I did here in case it would be helpful to someone else. I thought I had posted on this topic, but I don't know if it's waiting for moderator approval or whatnot, but I was running into the issue with the plug-in not working as well. Running on both 2019 MBP and 2017 iMacPro both Big Sur 11.6.2įor me it was that the 8.6.4 plugin did not communicate with Photoshop

Opened Photoshop and the export to Atem Media Pool is there - and works correctly - (tested with an Atem TV Studio HD running 8.1.1) replaced the 8.6.4 plugin with 8.6.3 plugin from the desktop copied the 8.6.3 plugin in /Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2021/Plug-ins/Import-Export/ folder to the Desktop (date is Aug 16, 2021) Upgraded Photoshop CC this morning (23.1.0) (reinstalled 8.6.4 after, plugin was in the right place, but PS did not show as an export option.) I saw that someone else had downgraded to 8.6.1 and the export plugin worked, so I decided to test. Workaround was using the old 2015 Intel MBP and not upgrade anything. I discovered this problem in November on my 2019 MBP (or maybe before that even). To make a long story short: All my Macs are Intel. Your mention of M1 support on 8.6.4 put the pieces together for me.
